Dreams ~ these can be a pie-in-the-sky idea! Some may say dreaming is fluffy, a waste of time – or they don’t have time to dream; they have real stuff to do.
Honestly, with only one life to live, you really don’t have time NOT to dream. To think about, ponder over, feel passionately, breathe in and get completely engulfed in what it is you really want to do or be or have in life. We all do it at some point. There is a finite amount of time we all have in life, and unlike our bank account, we don’t know how much we really have.
Funny how we scrutinize, analyze, log, plan out and diligently invest, save and spend our money. Yet, our time can be so easily wasted or given away without anyone discussing what that ROI is to us. We allow our time to blow away, but we would never allow a $100 bill…or a $5 bill!…flutter away without a thought. With every tick on the clock we lose another second, then minute, hour, year ~ wow, where did that decade go?!
We can chose to lose it or spend it dedicated to what we really want to do that gives us the most bang for our proverbial buck, moving productively towards what we really want ~ and have the most fun doing it!
Dream the dream. Then manifest it. Create the plan ~ what does it look like? What does it all entail? Who’s involved? What’s your timetable? And how does this fit into your schedule? What could possibly be your stumbling blocks? Ahhhh, yikes! That’s a lot. Maybe. It doesn’t have to be.
I’ve helped all kinds of people create their dream: a C-suite gentleman looking to learn how to pilot a boat…..A young man wanting to buy his first house…..an athletic woman get out of her own way to run her first marathon…a blue-collar tough-guy build up the nerve to speak publicly in front of a group.
How? Step by step. Breath by breath. Tick by tock. Constructing, composing, charting, designing each person’s own map ~ as unique and individual as each person is. Then it got colored, painted, swathed, draped, swirled, masoned, and stirred with all the details that best fit that person and what he/she was dreaming about. It also had the ability to bend, flex, pivot, dance and twirl around for what wasn’t on the map. ….things in life that just seem to happen…
Don’t have time to dream? You don’t have time not to dream. The clock will continue to tick away and the calendar will continue to flip ~ no matter what you are doing or where you are. Look back with pride and elation on your journey of adventures, learning curves, smiles and tears, knowing you did the best you could. Then look ahead knowing you are on an expedition of life that you are looking forward to with excitement, joy and assurance that you have chartered a path to get you where you want.
Smile, take a breath, and look around in the moment. There you are. Livin’ life, the way you want it to be and on your way. Don’t skip a beat or fast forward (life moves fast enough without having to nudge it). Immerse in what you have and are right now. The clock is not the only thing that will move forward, so will your life. Move with it, with intention. Relish in each tick, flip, step, and breath. So, what’s your dream? And what’s your plan to get there?
